Eye to eye by Bryant Austin

Eye to eye with the world’s largest animal: See the world’s largest whale picture at Oslo S! Bryant Austin is the only photographer in the world who has taken on the challenge of showing the largest animal on the planet, the whale, in life size photographs. His most recent work was photographing a whole adult minke whale. This picture will now adorn the front facade of Oslo’s central station, Oslo S, for a month. Presenting the exhibition in Norway are: Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge, NOAH-for dyrs rettigheter and World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) – in collaboration with Rom for Kunst.

Private Life

“Private Life” (Privatlivets fred) is an art project concerning private integrity and freedom. The exhibition is produced in collaboration with Datatilsynet (The Data Inspectorate), Kunst i offentlige rom Public Art Norway (KORO) and Rom for kunst, and presents four artworks with privacy as a theme. The exhibition PLAY I and PLAY II by Natasja Askelund opened at Stavanger train station Friday 20. June at 14.00. This is the first Rom for kunst (Room for art) exhibition at Stavanger train station. Rom for kunst was established in Oslo in 2001 and was extended to Trondheim train station in 2007.

The exhibition ”Take a deep breath” by Torunn Skjelland opened on the 19. June at Oslo Central Station. Torunn Skjelland was invited by Rom for kunst to create an exhibition on the themes climate, responsibility and awareness during three summer months at Oslo Central Station.

Pilgrim

The artist Thomas Håkki Eriksson has been on a pilgrimage from Sundsvall, Sweden to Trondheim, Norway. The art project ”Pilgrim” conserns themes as travelleing and meetings with the unknown.

The Opera

Artist Katja Høst har created a sculptural installation with photos from the old Opera-building in Oslo. for The exhibition is presented at Christian Frederiks plass on the south side of Oslo Central Station.

Arctic technology

Future Oslo Advent Calendar

This years Advent Calendar at Oslo Central Station is the image “Future Oslo” created by the German artist group eBoy. The image, which portrays a vision of Oslo 10 years from now, is exhibited on the stations west façade. Everyday between the 1st and 24th December a new element is added either on the façade or in the station area. Added elements are “people” from the eBoy-universe, designed in their characteristic pixel style with a sense of fun.

The exhibition Fussball:Football by Harun Farocki opens on 13th of October, at Oslo S 13.00 and at the Museum of Contemporary Art at 15.00. The exhibition is produced in collaboration with the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design.

Jason Havneraas lives and works in Trondheim but does not speak Norwegian. With the help of teacher Siri Gjære the artist intends to learn the language during a four week period. Lessons take place in the public area of Trondheim railway station (10.09.- 05.10.2007, Mon-Fri 11.00-14.00). We urge the public of Trondheim to participate in this event by stopping by and talking to the artist.
