Exhibition Zones

Current zones for exhibiting art at Oslo S are:

The main entrance, Oslo S, the façade on Øvre Jernbanetorg.

The glass façade to the left of the main entrance. Both the inside and the outside surfaces can be used. Art positioned on the façade can only be seen from the outside of the building. The facade is 24,85 meter wide and 7,6 meter high. Behind the façade is a room approximately 1 meter deep. The room is lit with ca. 60 fluorescent tubes. These can, if required, be programmed and incorporated into the artwork. Please see the architect’s drawings at the bottom of the page.

The Airport Express terminal, the façade towards the Fjord.

The glass façade between the two entrances. Both the inside and the outside surfaces can be used. Please see the drawing of the area below.

Plasma screen

Website, romforkunst.no

Room for Art’s website is available for artists to use and can be incorporated into an art project. The website can mediate sound, picture and video.

Other possible zones

In addition to these zones, we are open to suggestions for placing artworks. There is a possibility for example that certain art forms can be located on the trains, or at other locations inside or outside Oslo S. A proposition, including a full set of sketches, is required for a final decision to be made. The exhibition producers, Room for Art, cannot guarantee that any proposed areas will be accepted. Room for Art will discuss the individual propositions with NSB (The Norwegian State Railways) and Jernbaneverket (the Norwegian National Rail Administration).
